If you are considering a US tourist visa, then remember not to use the visa for what it was not intended for. In other words don’t use the tourist visa as a fiancee visa as this might be seen as immigration fraud. The US B-1/B-2 visitor visa is seen as being business for (B-1) or for pleasure. Then there is the medical treatment visa which is a (B-2). The B1 is not for employment and meant only for those who are in the US to attend to meetings.

The B-1 and B-2 visas tend to be combined and issued as one visa namely the B-1/B-2 visa.
Visa Qualification
You are going to need to prove to the consular officer that you are going to return. This could be property you own in your country or long term employment in your country. Most will require a letter from your employer. This is very common in China. That your visit to the US is only temporary and that you going there for the purpose for which the visa in intended. You will need to prove that your visit is legitimate.
If you are going on holiday then you should be able to show an itenary of your trip. If it is for medical treatment then a letter from the hospital will be required for this as well as for how long you are going to need to stay. You will also need to show when you are returning to your country. There will also be a need to show that you have money for your trip. This would normally be your bank account to show how much money you have available for the trip. Again you will need to show social ties to your country such as children or spouse.
Nore also that some foreign nationals may be ineligible for visas.
Tourist Visa Application Process
Firstly you will need to complete the electronic online application form called the DS-160 form. You can see on this website how this is done. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay in the US. Ther eis also a need for a recent, being less than 6 months, one (1) 2″x2″ (5cmx5cm) photograph. You will also need to show that you have paid the receipt showing payment of your US$160 non-refundable nonimmigrant visa application. This comes after the DS-160 form completion. Finally you will need to show a 10-year travel history as well as a list of siblings and children.
Additional Documents
The additional documents would be for those who have family in the US that you might be visiting. You will need the relevant photocopies of your relative’s proof of status . This can be a valid visa, Greed Card or ID Card. If this is for medical care then you will need all the documents explaining the visit from the doctor or hospital. Remember once again not to submit fake documents as it is US immigration fraud.
