Effective as from the February 6, 2012, the U.S. Embassy has suspended all operations and is not open for normal consular services. Neither US passports nor US visas to the United States will be issued in Damascus.
As you might know, the US Embassy in Syria was closed in 2012 due to the ongoing conflict and instability in the country. The US government currently does not have official diplomatic relations with the government of Syria and warns U.S. citizens against travel to the country.
