If you got married then you will need to have registered you marriage in Australia and apply for a K3 visa or the CR1 visa. This takes a while and you will need to seek the assistance of an immigration lawyer in Melbourne. The same will go for the K1 visa if you have an Australian fiancee. If you have lost your passport then you will need to report this to the local police. The case number they give you will need to be handed in at the US Embassy in Canberra or US Consulate in Melbourne when you apply for anew passport.
