The Form I-765 or employment authorization allows you to work in the United States. You need to file this application before you start employment in the US. Form I-765
You will know that the form I-765 also known as the application for employment authorization. This form is used by foreign nationals in the United States to apply to be able to work in the US. This Employment Authorization Document (EAD) allows your fiancée (after marriage) and spouse visa to work. There are different categories of visa holders.
You will know that your spouse or wife who have a K-3 or K-4 visa can also use the form to apply for an EAD and be authorized to work in America. Accordingly if you are not married and it is your fiancée on a fiancee K-1 visa. They cannot apply for a EAD as this can only be done after you have married and had her status adjusted.
CR1 Visa
Accordingly the form is not needed for an IR-1 (Immediate Relative) visa. Your wife who are in the US on an IR-1 visa can apply for the Social Security Number and work. This allows them to work as well. Yes, your wife on a CR1 visa (Conditional Resident) can work upon entering the US. Your spouses passport is stamped and acts as a temporary green card.
